Or
Surgery Center of Arlington (2400 Matlock Rd; Arlington, Texas 76015)

It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment at
the hospital one week prior to your surgery to have pre-op
testing done. If you are a diabetic, please have the tests done fasting.
The Day of Surgery
1. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the evening before
your surgery. It is absolutely necessary for your stomach to be empty.
2. Please leave all valuables at home. Remove all jewelry.
3. Take a good shower. You may have bandages that prevent you from normal
baths after surgery.
4. You may brush your teeth. Simply rinse and spit out the water.
5. You will not be able to drive home after surgery. Please make transportation
arrangements.
6. Make no other plans for the day of surgery. Occasionally the hospital
surgery schedule moves faster or slower than expected due to cancellations
and emergencies. Please be available to come to the hospital earlier should
the schedule change.
7. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Consider that you may have some limitations
after surgery.
Please note: A great deal of time and effort goes into the
scheduling of your procedure. Equipment is scheduled, surgery time is
obligated, personnel at the hospital have to be available, and arrangements
have to be made for an anesthesiologist. Therefore, please try not to
change your surgery date once it has bee set. Nevertheless, we understand
that occasionally this must occur due to conflicts in your life or an
unforeseen incident. If you know there is going to be a scheduling conflict,
notify our office as soon as possible so that other arrangements
can be made. If you should develop symptoms of an infection (sore throat,
cough, fever, urinary burning, skin infections/rashes etc.) within 3 days
before your surgery, please contact us immediately.
If you have any questions, please call Andrea Wylie, RN at 817-375-5271
